    3. Hi again, I just wanted to mention to the list, I have just finished reading a book by Warren Keats OAM about the early days in the New England area. Warren was a history teacher and has done a great deal of research in writing this book. It documents the story of the life of Ebenezer Keats and his wife Sarah Davenport and their early struggles in Australia. I read the book and thought it would generate a lot of interest on this list as it tells of a number of the early families in the Inverell area. I sat up and took notice when it mentioned Francois and Mary Girard who are connected to my line through my uncle. It brings in a lot of factual information from the time as well as mentioning many of the local identities of that era. I found it a really good read, and thought I would just share it with the list. I met Warren whilst researching my Pratt/Newstead lines. I have encouraged him to sign up to this list which he did today. He started up the Lower Tweed Heads Historical Society and was awarded the Order of Australia for his efforts. He has unlimited knowledge on the different identities of the New England area in the early days and is happy to share his knowledge, he has spent countless years on his research. His brother Norman wrote the book Wollumbin, which is now held in most Historical Societies. Anyhow just thought I would share that with you. Cheers Maureen
