The Anglican Church in Inverell, whose photo appears on the net, dates from 1878, is in Rivers Street, and is St Augustine's. This is the only one listed in the white pages for the town. According to the web site at www.inverell.itsyou.info there is a second Anglican Church in Inverell, whose name is not given, in Campbell Street. I should think it most unlikely, however, that this one would also date from the 19th century. The Campbell Street location confuses me. I am an Inverell local. In this area is the Library, the back if the police station, the back of the post office, the gentleman's club, but no church. The old Austral Band hall (which is also in that area) *I think* was used as a church in its long career - and MAY have been the anglican place of worship prior to St Augustines. I don't know if there was a minister specifically for Inverell at that time or perhaps he travelled from Armidale. Camilla who contributes to this list would be able to give a definitive answer.
