    3. I have been reading some old posts regarding Tenterfield Germans.I am a member of the Tenterfield Family History Group & Tenterfield Historical Society & have come across a lot of German names in Tenterfield.I don't know of any Lutheran Church in Tenterfield, but a great deal of German families were Catholic or became Catholic after they arrived, it also depended on the religion of the spouse especially for the first generation born in Australia. They often changed their religion to whatever their future spouse was. I decided to write down as many German surnames as I could think of, including my own family names Brauer,Kasten,Bender,KIumm. I am sure there are a lot more but these are all I can think of at the moment........ Imberger,Sommerlad,Senf,Struck,Eggert,Bloch,Soper,Hurtz,Koch, Kraut,Blaker,Bergin,Kyburtz,Lohse,Kayser,Hartmann,Jaegar,Juergens, Schiffmann,Heiss,Kneipp,Schroder,Roos,Hass,Petrie,Vock,Beihoff, Ebert,Kuskey,Geihe,Rebora,Berger,Leis,Schultz,Pieper. I also have a great deal of German family names in Toowoomba Qld they are.....
