    3. Hi Allie I think you are being steered off course with Booloominbah. Armidale was a substantial a town and the mail address of Booloominbah would not have been via Inverell. Booloorina does exist in Inverell district near Byron Station on the Arrawatta Road. I can't imagine the Wrights of Booloominbah being at Booloorina. If you go to http://www.lands.nsw.gov.au/survey_mapping/parish_maps and search the historical maps for parish Wandera Boolarina is the eastern side of the river and east of the road running parallel to the river approximately level to most southerly part of the surveyed township of Byron - this township never came to fruition. On the current Topographic map it looks like the house is on portion 41 of parish Wanderra. (latitude -29.697 longitude 151.122) Byron Station was subdivided and auctioned in 1906. There is a lengthy report on the sale and purchasers in the Inverell Times, Wednesday, February 14 1906. (sorry I don't have a copy of the full article but the microfilm is available at Inverell Library and large libraries like the UNE Armidale and of course in Sydney) My husband's great grandfather, Charles F Turner, purchased 103 acres at that sale. He went on to aquire a number of neigbouring properties in later years and establish 5 of his sons in farming. Booloorina was probably some of the other blocks of the Byron Subdvision. Maybe the Wright family appear in the report in the Inverell Times. It seems that the Portion numbers on the parish map may correspond with the lot numbers of the sale. By the 1950s Booloorina was 931 acres and owned by Frederick George Turner eldest son of Charles. I don't know when the property was bought by the family or from whom. Booloorina is now owned by Mrs S Towns. Arrawatta Station nearby was involved in dairy sharefarming on a large scale - maybe that is what brought your people from Eden http://www.pictureaustralia.org/ has some photos from 1910 of Arrawatta. Regards Glynis Turner
