Greetings all I am a new member of this list and my family passed through the NE area on travels from Maitland to Walgett. My main interests are Lewis and, Morris. Most were itinerant farm workers. Oliver Lewis b 1857 Maitland was a boundary rider and married Elizabeth Field b 1856 Windsor. They had the following children. My grandfather Henry Lewis b 1880 Philips Creek Liverpool Plains – was a shearer. He married May Morris b 1893 Narrabri and lived in Walgett until 1915 when he enlisted at Armidale in WW1. The other Lewis siblings of Henry - James b 1879 Murrurundi, Oliver b1882 Gunnedah, Reginald c b 1884 Quirindi, Isabelle b 1886 Quirindi, Albert T b 1888 Quirindi, Herbert W b 1891 Quirindi. They seemed to have disappeared. I have been unable to trace them. My G.G.G grandfather was George Morris b c 1828 in Penrith and Married Jane Lamb b 1844 Mt York in 1863 in Hartley. He was a grazier and a stockman. They are fairly well documented on other web sites but I am searching for a link to prove his father was James Morris born Warwickshire about 1763 and arrived as a convict onboard the Minorca 1801.
