Bev, I was intrigued by your post so I checked my NSW BDM CD's and still did not find an entry for George VENESS. It could be possible that Mary had George before she married Daniel and then he was brought up as Daniel's child. I have a couple of instances like this in a couple of branches. I did however find the following entries which may be of interest to you.
