    2. Marcia and Kelvin Penny
    3. Hello Listers I am new to this list. I would like to make contact with anyone who has an interest in the Sellick family who lived in and around Wellingrove and Glen Innes from 1860 onwards. George Sellick married Amy (or Mary) Elizabeth Rule in 1860, and several children are registered to them at Wellingrove. Some of these children have marriages registered in Glen Innes. (surnames Taylor, Smith and Campbell) I think George may have died in Glen Innes in 1910, and his wife Amy in 1919. Thanks Marcia Penny

How did they fare when they got here? Some came as convicts, some as free settlers, others were State Prisoners. For all it was a new life. *Experience Quondong 15 Old Menangle Rd, Campbelltown *Quondong was built in 1840 as St Patrick's Catholic School, attended by the grandchildren of Hugh Byrne. It is now a museum where you experience early colonial history, life in Old Campbell Town and see artefacts of Australian history. *Historic Glenalvon 8 Lithgow Street, Campbelltown *This house was built by Michael Byrne, (son of Wicklow rebel Hugh Vesty Byrne). Glenalvon is considered to be one of the finest sandstone homes of Colonial Georgian design in NSW and has a heritage garden setting and original stable complex. When Michael Byrne suffered financial difficulties after an extended drought Glenalvon was sold to his brother-in-law John Keighran. There are many headstones in the adjoining Catholic cemetery which date from the 1820s and '30s. Some of those who came to Australia on the "Tellicherry" are buried here as are other famous early Australians such as James Ruse and his wife. /This event is free but we would suggest a small donation to help cover the costs. Any surplus will be donated to the Campbelltown and Airds Historic Society./

Hi Bettina The NSW State Library have films of these newspapers as does the UNE library Armidale I would think you would need more of a date than ' in the 1970's ' to have chance of getting copy of this article Bye MargM New England List Admin >

    3. I'm only guessing, but the University of New England has a big history section and should have all the old newspapers there. Also, perhaps the State Library in Sydney or SAG (Society of Australian Genealogists) in Kent Street Sydney. These are only suggestions, I don't live anywhere near any of these places, just going on past information received. Lynette Begg P.O. 3. Hi Bettina, I have Dwyer's in my family and I will list the info briefly and hope there is a connection. ANASTASIA DWYER (Annie, or Ann) was born to Patrick Dwyer and Mary ?? in Ireland abt 1847. On arrival in Aust with her parents she married my great grandfather, William Keating born Tipperary Ireland, Annie was his 2nd wife. Annie died in Euroa 1900 aged just 53, William died in Rutherglen 1907, their daughter Julia Keating is my grandmother. We also have a Michael Dwyer in our family tree and wonder if he was Annie's brother, also wondering if your Edward Patrick Dwyer is connected, they all lived around Uralla and the naming pattern is the same as our family, ELLEN, MICHAEL, WILLIAM, JOANNA, ELIZABETH, MARY AND BRIDGET, these are also common KEATING names. Further down the line, Julia Keating (Annie's daughter) married Charles George Gordon in Albury/Wodonga and they moved to NSW and lived in Camden, my grandfather was the manager of the orchards at Camden Park Estate (Macarthur Onslow) and they had 2 children, Irene Therese Gordon (my Mum, still living aged 82) and my Uncle William (Bill) Gordon, he is also still living and lives in Vic.
