    3. We have recently changed our email server, going on broadband, so would like to repost our interests in both The Hunter Valley and New England areas where many of these families were located from the mid 1820's to well into the 1900's. Some of their descendants are still located in the New England area. Joseph Broadbent HOLMES and his wife Harriet arrived 1842 and took up 2000+ acres of land between Cessnock and Branxton which he named "The Wilderness" hence Wilderness Road. Rev. Alfred GLENNIE. arrived 1828. James GLENNIE arrived 1824, took up 2000+ acres to the North of Singleton which he named "Dulwich" after his home town in England. Glennie's Creek is named after him. Dr. Henry GLENNIE arrived C1832 and settled in Singleton where he remained until his death in 1880. Also George WYNDHAM who arrived c1828 and established "Dalwood". The HOLMES, GLENNIES and WYNDHAMS were very close and there were a number of marriage between their descendants. The HOLMES" eldest son married the eldest daughter of Alfred GLENNIE. They lived on "Yallaroi" station where Maxwell Holmes, was for many years, manager. (Maxwell was my great grandfather). Would very much like to hear from anyone who may be connected.
