Dear Listers Thru research done earlier this year I know the patient records for Morisset Hospital and Allandale, Cessnock , are located at the James Fletcher Hospital, Newcastle mail address Hunter New England Mental Health Service Clinical Information Dept PO Box 833 NEWCASTLE 2300 Phone Wendy BROWN phone 02 29246621 fax 02 49246629 Cost of a file of up to 80 pages is $32 . In the case of my research we got 1 page for $32 . That page didnt have much info either as " lots of Morisset patient records were lost in a fire" Have never needed to chase up Stockton Hospital . Hi Listers, I am just a lurker, but really interested in all that goes through here. I live in Maitland -have since I was born half way through the last century (hehe). But I have a feeling that Stockton was under the control of the Royal Newcastle Hospital, not James Fletcher, until maybe 15 years ago. There could be a chance that some of the earlier records could have gone to The Uni of Newcastle's Archival section, in their Library. While no the subject, my Cousin has been searching for a hospital called FERNDALE which was in the vicinity of Charmhaven or Toukley, not sure which. Has anyone heard of this hospital and if so know where records would be kept ?
