    3. The death occurred on 19 Oct 2006 of Philippe TABUTEAU of Gosford, and the Central Coast has lost a stalwart in helping us to rediscover the district's history. Philippe and his wife emigrated to Australia from France, and since the early 1950s have lived at Narara. He founded the Gosford Local History Study Group, well-known as based at Niagara Park Shopping Centre, about 30 years ago . This group of volunteer researchers and transcribers was instrumental in the publication of a number of books on Central Coast History. The office ceased to operate with the onset of Philippe's illness. Philippe was privately buried in Wamberal Cemetery. He had arranged some years ago for a marble headstone to be erected on a sloping site which he joked would allow him a good view. The only thing missing in the inscription was his date of death. At that time he was unaware that his death would be as a result of Motor Neurone Disease. He will be missed. MargM Central Coast & Hunter Valley List Admin
