Hello there, this seems to be a big coincidence to me. I work at 43 Brunker Road, Broadmeadow (Brunker Road runs through Adamstown and Broadmeadow) in a very old house that is now a community mental health service. According to the history of the place it was originally the house of a prominent Adamstown identity, then was used as a private maternity hospital, before becoming an Aboriginal youth refuge, and then finally bought and used by various mental health services. This history was told to me by an old lady whose grandparents lived in the house next door (which is now a vacant lot). >From the street it looks like just an ordinary old house but is quite large and was extended in the 1960s or 70s when it became the Aboriginal refuge. I wonder whether this was the Arlington Private Hospital you referred to? Particularly given that I had heard it was used as a private hospital long before I ever saw this email...
