    3. Hi I have no connection to this couple but found info of their Golden Wedding Anniversary on a sheet of Newspaper used as backing on an old photo. It actually has more detail on the ancestors than themselves. I know I'd love to stumble across it if it was my family! I thought I'd send it on while I have it in case it helps anyone. I don't know what the newspaper but I gather it was 25th March 1946! GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. Congratulations were extended to Mr & Mrs W W Middletonof East Maitland on the occasion of the celebration of their golden wedding to-day. They were married on March 25th 1896 by the Rev CharlesWhyte, M A of Brown-St ConregationalChurch Newcastle. Mrs Middleton is the Youngest daughter of the late Mr & Mrs James Gow who were associated with the Brown-StCongregational Church from its foundation in 1853. Mr Gow was Choirmaster fro 14 years. Mr Middleton is the second son of the late Mr & Mrs G A Middleton and is a descendant in direct line from the late Rev G A Middleton MA who arrived in Sydney on board the sailing ship Prince Regent on January 29 1820. After relieving the Rev Marsden at Parramatta during the later's absence in New Zealand he became the first incumbent at Newcastle in the year 1821. He later carried out Clerical duties in the Maitland and paterson Districts. Mr & Mrs Middleton reside at High-street ast Maitland and have a son and two grandons. One, Ronald has just begun his second year medical course at Sydney University and the other, Geoffrey is attending maitland Boy's High School. Regards Tracey Reed Lithgow NSW
