I just thought you all might like to know I found my Robert MARTIN - he was the one who died at Captains Flat in 1888, much earlier than I expected. I also found he was made insolvent in 1881 after being sued for 550 pounds. I guess they did not get their money anyway, as his affadavit listed his only assets as "apparel 5 pounds". His income was listed as 50/- per week with living expenses of 40/- per week. In 1888, he was a publican in Captains Flat and died of Delerium Tremens. His estate was reckoned at 176-10-7 (including 70pounds goodwill of business, so the pub was doing okay) and his debts at 176-17-6.
