Hi Jan There was a St Vincent - convict ship arrived here 1837 - arrived 05 01 1837 NSW, sailed 13 09 1836 from Cork. I know the date does not fit but it's a thought. I too wondered if Maria had
Hi Joanne They were married 5 September 1836 in St Andrew's Scots Presbyterian Church, Sydney. Their first child was born Brickfield Hill in Sydney on 9th May 1837. I have had contact from a distant relative who could identify two of the witnesses at the wedding. One witness was Maria's sister, present under her married name and her husband. But....thanks for the suggestion. I did try to check the convicts listed on St Vincent, but the ship's name was not highlighted. However, I am pretty sure that Michael Leary (O'Leary) did come from Cork - but there was more than one Michael Leary/O'Leary who came from Cork. I hve to find which one. Thanks for the suggestion.
