Hi Jenny and List According to some notes - i took down some time ago. The Parish of Houghton within the County of Durham is now the town of Paterson. However from two baptisms I have recorded from the County of Houghton, the first in 1845, my ancestors Richard And Elizabeth Sawyer were living in Gresford and the second in 1847 they were working on the Norwood Estate of Mr Gibbes, Paterson River.
