Grooms Parents: Robert MAUN and Mary Ann Sizeland; Brides Parents: John TILLY and Catherine. Thanks for that Terry. The family had no idea he was married previously. All the information you have given is the same as the marriage certificate including parents, which I have, except for under "Conjugal Status" he states "Settler". I have managed to find his first wife (another Sarah) who was a widow having come to the colony with her first husband and 2 children in 1849. The Maun threw me a bit but must have been a transcription error as his first wife's death index gives the name as Mann. Didn't keep his bed cold for too long did he!! Still can't find his arrival in Australia. We think about 1838 according to length of time in the colony on his death. BTW is it usual to have differing dates? My certificate gives 8 July 1862 and yours is 20 August 1862. Maybe Banns or something?
