Hi Marg & list, I'm guilty..... My convict ancestor James GRIFFITHS married Sarah McGILVRAY at Paterson in 1844. They lived on the property "Tillimby" - Boughton Flats - Paterson where they raised their family of 7, until James & Sarah & baby daughter drowned in the Paterson River on christmas day 1858. Two of the children, John & James were taken in by the TATTERSALL family & later married Hannah & Louisa TATTERSALL. I have no idea what happened to the other children. Sometime after James & Sarah's death the children changed the spelling of their surname to GRIFFIS. Other surnames that married into my convicts family are: TATTERSALL, COOTE, NORTHAM Lyn Jobson (nee Griffis) Forster NSW Aust.
