    3. Hello Sharon. Because I have long been interested in the NSW Royal Veteran Corps, your mention of Edward GRIMES below, piqued my interest. So I went to the British TNA (The National Archives) search page at this URL: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/ And searched within the WO (War Office) class of records. First: I entered "Edward Grimes" and obtained 2 hits, either of which MIGHT be your person; but neither mentioned the Royal Veteran Corps at all. Second: I tried searching in the same WO class for all references to GRIMES, just by entering that surname only. This gave 125 hits. Many of the hits gave Royal Veteran regiment details, but none that I could quickly see were for the 24th. Basically, I should expect your Edward GRIMES to appear in these searches. So either one of the two hits in my first search above is him -- with nothing shown there for any Royal Veteran corps for them; or possibly by a transcription error the surname has been indexed with some different spelling; or perhaps he had a different forename. Nevertheless, I hope that by looking through the 125 hits for GRIMES you might find someone who might interest you. Hoping that this might help you a little. Good luck.
