Patrick Ahern who married Sarah Lynch was the son of Patrick Ahern and Mary Kiely. Patrick senior is the convict who was transported on the "Marquis of Huntley" in 1828. His wife Mary Kiely came as a convict on the "Elizabeth" in 1828 with young Patrick. Margaret (mentioned as having been granted free passage on the "Thomas Harrrison" in 1835 was one of Patrick and Mary's three children who were left behind in Ireland when they were transported to NSW. the other two, Bridget and John, had died in Ireland before Margaret came to NSW.
