Good evening list, Apologies for cross posting. Today the AGM of Ryerson Index Inc was held at the Society of Australian Genealogists in Sydney. On www.ryersonindex.org there are currently nearly 2.1 million entries indexed in just over 10 years. Over 130 indexers submit information from 149 newspapers, but apparently there are nearly 2,000 newspapers published in Australia, so the following questions were posed :- Is there a newspaper in the area listers live, or have an interest in that is not being indexed? Are copies of the death, and/or funerals notices readily available to be copied? Is there a lister, or group, interested in indexing that information for inclusion in the Ryerson Index? Is back information available for indexing for the relevant paper of interest? There is contact information on the Ryerson Index website, or anyone having a question can contact me direct, [email protected] Currently information is being added to the Ryerson Index at an average of 900 entries daily, updated every couple of weeks and the committee are keen to increase the information available FREE to anyone who cares to log onto the site.
