Dear Ian, It could be that they owned both properties, and as ratepayers are listed twice, or alternatively they were in the process of moving. The NSW Probate Index, on microfiche, should be checked and if there is a listing for Albert then there will be a file at State Records, Kingswood. See www.records.nsw.gov.au and look for Archives in Brief 84 on Probate Packets. Everything owned is valued from the doorstop to the Rolls Royce, but for public access to be allowed you have to have a number under 598443, which the date of your death should be under, as they go to about 1964-5. Sometimes the Probate Packet contains a Death Registgration Certificate as proof of death.
