Jenny I have Vista and have no problems with those CDs. Have you reinstalled them? That might help. Hi Bill
Hi Jenny, Before choosing between Vista or XP on new computer purchase (Dec 2009)I was able to try installing the cds you mentioned on the stores computer which was running Vista. The cds installed with no problems but I ended up going with XP anyway. Hope this helps. Jenny, When installing them, make sure you install "As Administrator". If you don't, this can cause problems. Dear Jenny, Tony made a suggestion, however what I have found is that many technicians are totally unaware of the family history programmes operation and throw their hands up in the air. I bought a new laptop recently myself, but I took Vista off and installed XP. Even then, the man working on my computer, a technician of many years experience had in the past had absolutely nothing to do with family history programmes. With the programmes I have for family history and my association with the Ryerson Index he offered the comment that my computer contains more information than many small businesses. Hope you get the problem sorted.
