    3. Hi Wendy, Unfortunately I don't see her on the following: http://www.catholiccemeteries.org.au/ (a very useful site for Sydney area) Have you traced where all her children were living at the time? Or even where they were buried? Sometimes this can help. Further to Ian's message, the Catholic Archives explains: 'If you have a certificate that refers to the "Parish of St James, County of Cumberland", please note that this refers to the geographic area of St Mary's in the colonial period, that is, the central Sydney area: it does not refer to records that are kept at St James Church or to St Mary's Cathedral.' http://www.sydney.catholic.org.au/about/archives.shtml The above archives are NOT available for Family History research but states the following: 'However all relevant sacramental registers have been microfilmed within the restraints of legislation and are available for family history research at Society of Australian Genealogists (120 Kent Street Sydney), State Library of NSW and National Library of Australia (Canberra).' Wait for the transcription and if it gives you the burial ground it makes it easier to track down transcripts via books which give clues (thinking "Cemeteries in Australia - A Register of Transcripts" & one of Nick Vine Hall's books) or Googling. Someone on a Sydney list may be able to help. If it doesn't give you the name of the burial ground then... SAG would be my try if I was desperate (willing to pay for the research) because they would be most familiar with the burial and/or MI transcription records for Sydney & what to try first. http://www.sag.org.au/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=65&Itemid=100 There is a lot of information about the early burial grounds of Sydney if you start Googling. Graves were also moved too when land was used for other purposes.
