The database contains over 1.6 million patent applications covering all of Australia and can be searched by inventor's name (including spelling variations) as well as type of invention. This is not the normal type of website that a genealogist would think to look at but it might be a great website to search if you think one of your ancestors may have been an inventor, scientist, engineer or tinkerer.
