Hello Listers, Have just joined the list an am hoping to smash down some brick walls. I'm not sure if I have been on this list before. It has been several years since I have done any research. But now I work part-time so have more hours to get back to it, I am researching Robert STEWART and Mary O'NEIL/O'NEILE/O'NEAL/NEIL. Robert was born in Stirling, Scotland C1807, died West Maitland C1900. Robert married Mary at the Catholic Church, West Maitland on 15th September 1840. Mary was born in County Kerry, Ireland C1814 and died West Maitland C1898. Both came to Australia as convicts. Robert arrived in 1830 after being sentenced 7 years for stealing butter. Mary came to Australia in 1837 after being sentenced 7 years for stealing from a dwelling house. I have purchased a couple of death certificates but they were the wrong ones. There were too many to buy them all. They had five children William C1840 - 1892 Ellen C1843 - Robert 1845 - James Alexander 1849 - 1936 (my g grandfather) David 1853 - I look forward to hearing from anyone that may be related or can offer any assistance.
