    3. This Sarah MANTLE married a George Thomas BRADSHAW on 8 December 1880 in Newcastle as a spinster; Father William MANTLE; Mother Charlotte NEWTON; Reg 4340. Sarah BRADSHAW died on 8 September 1894 in Newcastle and his buried at Cof E Cemetery, Waverley, NSW. Father William MANTLE; Mother Charlotte NEWTON. This Sarah MANTLE is also supposed to have married Charles DILLON in 1877 at Brisbane Water, NSW and had a daughter to him in 1880 who died 4 weeks later 11 Apr 1880 (as per a couple of Trees on the internet). I searched the NSW BDM and I found that there were 3 X Sarah MANTLE born: Sarah J Mantle to John and Ann in 1850 Sarah A Mantle to William and Charlotte in Maitland in 1857 and finally Sarah A Mantle to John Sarah in Maitland in 1861. The other marriage is: Sarah MANTLE m David E JAMES in 1885 in Lambton. Was my Sarah MANTLE a bigamist or has someone got the wrong information in their Family Tree? Shirlee Wellington, NZ

Hi Shirlee I would not trust Ancestrys public trees . These are very often very secondary 'records' and much copied . Maybe OK as a rough guide only. 3 have one of my husbs gt x 2 gmothers being b in Scotland 1844 and having her first baby in 1854 in Melbourne. The 3rd ref is correct but not the first two . She wasnt b in Scotland and was a tad older. Have copy of her baptismal cert. You need to start with yourself or some other proven person .............. a grand parents perhaps, and work back All 3 Sarah MANTLEs married so all had different surnames ........... Which one fit in your tree ? Bye MargM Hunter Valley List Admin
