Hi Can SKS lookup a death notice for me? Sarah BRADSHAW died 8 September 1894 in Newcastle and was buried in Waverley Cemetery. I have already tried the Ryerson Index website and there are no lookups currently for that period. thanks Shirlee Wellington, NZ
Dear Shirlee, Rather than no lookups being available for that period on the Ryerson Index, the name Sarah BRADSHAW, in 1894 is not on the Ryerson Index. Lookups from the Ryerson Index team are only available by quoting the name, newspaper and date of publication. Even then it is only is there is a volunteer for that paper and that year. SMH for 1894 is completely indexed, so there was no notice posted in that paper. You will be able to find out which Maitland Mercury papers are indexed into the Ryerson Index by using the top left icon on the main page, then selecting the paper from the list being indexed. Back in 1894 that would have been quite a logistical effort to transport a body that distance. Even now it would take time. Where does this info come from ? Bye MargM Hunter Valley List Admin
