Dear Shirlee, If you try a search for "sarah bradshaw" in newspapers on Trove for the year 1894 http://trove.nla.gov.au/ you will get several hits including a report on an inquiry into her sudden death at Sandgate. Is it possible that your source has assumed Sandgate was at Newcastle instead of Queensland?
