Hi Terry It is from the older generation of the family stories about Joseph having a retail menswear store in Hunter Street in Newcastle, plus the fact I am sure when I was a child in the early 1940s, I have been there with my mother, but the memory is fairly vague, (which I guess it would, when it is now something like sixty-eight years later or so). . The thing is I do not know if it was just Joseph himself who had the business, or if it was a family run business, or what it was exactly yet, and why when checking Trove for some information, I was also hoping an advertisement for the store in Newcastle might have come up which might have enlightened me a little more.
