Hi Lindsay, Zara Street is still there,The old Beaches Hotel was removed in the 60s I remember having a beer there in the early 60s,it was down from the hospital. Zara Street had many boarding houses in the early 1900s I think the Beaches Hotel that you have mentioned is The Beach Hotel at Merewether it over looks Merewether beach.
