Hi everyone Trying a bit of lateral thinking in the hope of a break through. The informant on my GG Grandmother's death certificate was a Catherine STOKES, Sister. My GG Grandmother's name was - Susan CHAPMAN nee McDONNELL/McDONALD, previously WHITE. I have found a marriage in the Maitland area for a Henry STOKES & Katherine MACDONNELL, which I am waiting on the certificate to arrive. Susan & Katherine/Catherine's parents names were Christopher & Kathleen/Katherine. Would anyone have any connections to this family. From what I can see on NSW BDM they may have had a few children in the Maitland area. Many thanks in advance Maria Thomas LAKE MUNMORAH, NSW
Please remove john from your list as he passed away in september
Hi List Thanks to Catherine, Heather, Jan and Clare who responded to my query. I have now passed on the information and he was overwhelmed by the kindness shown, he now wants to know more about the Aunt he never knew, so I shall look into that later. We now know Charles had a sister Lucy 3years younger than him, his father was a farmer, and both father and mother were born in Wales. Charles' work was as a baker in a Confectionary Shop, he was unmarried in the 1881 census but married in Australia in 1888, so that narrows the shipping gap. Thank you all once again MargaretB Lake Macquarie NSW Australia

Hello listers, Does anyone know if church records exist for the Paterson area? I'm trying to trace the birth of Thomas Hawkins in around 1856. It's not in NSW BDM. His death certificate says he was born in Paterson, and his father was John. His mother was possibly Mary and he possibly had a sister, Ellen, born in 1858 also in Paterson. Cheers Robyn
