Hi Mike, I recently obtained Caroline's death cert, as her birth cert is unable to be found. It names her parents as James O'Sullivan/ Sullivan and Mary Sargent Wicks. She was 68 when she died in 1923. So her birth date is roughly around 1855. It also states on the cert. that her birth place is Bells Hollow, Merriwa. Also on her marriage cert. Sarah Ann Sullivan is named as a witness, (which I assume is her younger sister.) Contact me if you would like a copy of this info. Hi Neville There is a possibility. Although most of my direct ancestors settled in Brisbane after arriving on the INDUS in 1874, from Oxfordshire. There were some who arrived in New South Wales. One line of HINTONs did settle in the Dungog along with GGG Aunt Elizabeth Francis Simmonds (nee HINTON of Oxfordshire). Gary Simmonds, my cousin, still lives in Dungog. I believe one of the HINTON girls (Mary I think) married into the McInnes line. I will get back to you with more information.
