    3. Hello Joy and Allan, Thankyou for this information, it has happened and its great. I have even found a couple of entries for 1977 deaths. However I have found that the place of the event is missing. Are they going to add this later or is it just the entries I have looked up? Best wishes, Kathryn Rogers ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joy Murrin Family History Services" <joy@joymurrin.com.au> To: <AUS-NSW-Hunter-Valley@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, December 30, 2006 2:04 PM Subject: [HV] NSW BDM ACCESS EXTENDED FOR TRANSCRIPTION AGENTS > Did you know that our NSW BDM access will be extended on 1 January 2007 for > Births to 1906, Deaths to 1976 and Marriages to 1956 The extended index > should be on the NSW BDM website from 1 January. > > Yes that's right the birth index is now starting to be extended. > > Regards > > Joy & Allan Murrin > > > > We will be closed from 20 December to 10 January 2007. > > We wish you a safe and happy Christmas and New Year > > > > Joy Murrin Family History Services > > <http://www.joymurrin.com.au> www.joymurrin.com.au > > PO Box 278 Oatley NSW 2223 > > Phone (02) 95851187 > > Fax (02) 95851486 > > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to AUS-NSW-HUNTER-VALLEY-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >

    3. It's also worth remembering that the NSW Pioneer Index 1788-1918 (Federation Series 1889-1918) on CD-ROM includes NSW Births up to and including 1918. I've had mine for many years and it's been extremely useful having births up to 1918. Unfortunately, my CD is now breaking down (there's something wrong with aluminium layer) and can't be read, so I'll have to get a new CD soon. 1. [HV] COBB FAMILY - James, Albert, Walter
    2. Peter Saunders
    3. Searching for information on the above family - parents James and Emily Cobb and brothers James, Albert and Walter. The family lived in Newcastle during the later years of the 19th century, with some remaining in that location and others later moving to Sydney and farther afield. In his day, Walter "Wally" Cobb was a well-known footballer, representing Australia during the 1890s. I have been unable to find birth records for the brothers, whose births would have occurred somewhere around the 1860-70 period, so am assuming James and Emily may have arrived in Australia with a young family. If anyone has connections to the family, or can suggest where I may find basic evidence of where or when the family arrived in NSW, I'd be very pleased. TIA, Maureen.

    3. Thank you Marg for this lovely Christmas gift. It will help me so much. I've been Googling years and timeline in order to create a special chronology for my mother who turns 100 in July. I'm putting in World, Australia and Family events for each decade, starting with 1860s when Mum's father William MEWBURN was born. It's overcast here at Cundletown (near Taree) and we had rain during the night - hope it didn't stop the reindeer! Christmas wishes to all Gloria "All I want for Christmas is the rain."
