    3. Hi John. 32 Children - Streuth. Fair enough not having TV in those days, but surely there must have been some sort of other entertainment to keep those folks out of trouble ! I suggest you try contacting Newcastle Library and also some of the Family Hist. places around the Upper Hunter Region. Good luck in your endeavors. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Rice" <jrice@westnet.com.au> To: <aus-nsw-hunter-valley@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 25, 2007 2:16 AM Subject: [HV] 32 CHILDREN

Just a thought, when I was going through the NSW BDM for my WHEATLEYs I found 12 children with the right Father and Mother. However on further checking I noticed that half were born in Redfern or there abouts and the others in the North Sydney area. As my mob came from North Sydney I concluded that I was looking at two entirely different families. Any chance that you are having the same problem?? 3. John, As this isn't your main line you may not want to be spending any money finding out who these 32 children were. BUT, if you are, maybe pick a few births at intervals and obtain transcripts - previously born siblings should be shown. Another source might be obituaries - if Richard and Camilla died in the Maitland area, you would expect to find a good newspaper article about the family. 3. Sometimes, if an unmarried daughter had a child, the baby was registered with parents' names which were actually the names of the baby's grandparents! Look closely at the later births. Is there a cross reference? A birth registration place different from the usual place of abode?
