    3. Thanks for that Terry. The family had no idea he was married previously. All the information you have given is the same as the marriage certificate including parents, which I have, except for under "Conjugal Status" he states "Settler". I have managed to find his first wife (another Sarah) who was a widow having come to the colony with her first husband and 2 children in 1849. The Maun threw me a bit but must have been a transcription error as his first wife's death index gives the name as Mann. Didn't keep his bed cold for too long did he!! Still can't find his arrival in Australia. We think about 1838 according to length of time in the colony on his death. BTW is it usual to have differing dates? My certificate gives 8 July 1862 and yours is 20 August 1862. Maybe Banns or something? 3. Couldn't be before 1900. As the article says: "The above facts have been brought under the notice of the Prime Minister of Australia and the ...." , it must be after 29 March 1901 when Edmund Barton became the first Prime Minister of Australia. Also the article records: Writing to the editor of The Globe Mr King says:- " I was eight years of age when I arrived in Australia [ possibly 1844] and my wife thirteen [1856]. We were married at Hexham NSW. [1859] We have been married fifty three years on the 2nd of August 1910 and my wife, who gave birth to thirty children, was seventy three on the 31st January last. I was seventy eight on the 1st September." While the ages don't appear, at a cursory glance, to tally, I would tend to suggest 1910 as the year of the article. The language pattern could indicate it was written after 31 Jan 1910 and before 2 Aug 1910. 3. Is anyone researching the Jaeger family I am trying to connect a Jaeger to our family as they came from the same area as mine in Singleton but it seems the further I go the more in the mud I get. So far I have got Charles JAGEAR married Amy Jones in Wickham 1923, then I got his death Charles Frederick JAEGER died 1964 in Belmont son of Edward Peter and Annie Maria. On searching I have found Charles Frederick Jaeger war records which says he was born in Belmont 1903 Then I found Charles F Jaegear born in Singleton 1903 to Annie M no mention of a father, I kept searching and found Annie married to Edward J Woolmer. Then found the death of Annie which says her parents were Cornelius and Mary Elizabeth. There is a marriage for a Cornelius Jaeger and Mary A Swan in Singleton 1897. In 1909 there is a death for a CORNELIUS W son of William and Annie M at West Maitland. I can't find any mention of an Annie Jaeger being born to CORNELIUS so I am not sure if I am up the right tree. I need to find out if Annie was the Jaeger and if her parents were William and Annie M. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance Tracie King
