    3. Dear Roseanne, The Family History Group of Bathurst a year or so ago released a CD with all the Bathurst Headstone Transcriptions on it. Could be worth a try on the Bathurst-Orange List. Sincerely,Bill Do you know where Patrick Ahern was born, who his parents were and if he had any siblings? I have a Mary Ahern born 20 Aug 1817, Cork Ireland who married John Piper on 22 Dec 1846 at Bathurst. I know nothing about Mary other than she died in the Bathurst area of NSW. Her date of birth was given to me and I have not verified it. Mary and John had 10 children all born in the Bathurst area. __________________________________________________________________________________ Get more done like never before with Yahoo!7 Mail. 3. Hi Listers, On 14/02/1847 at West Maitland Patrick AHERN of Wollombi married Sarah LYNCH (Ref:877 V95). They had at least 2 children. I am trying to establish whether this Sarah LYNCH was the lass who was working for Mrs. DACRE on Kennington Farm at Hexham in 1845. The lass working for Mrs. DACRE may have been the sister of my GG grandmother Mary Ann LYNCHEY and I have collected a considerable amount of information about her and her mistreatment by the system prior to her going to the DACRE farm. Mary Ann LYNCHEY accompanied her mother Sarah LYNCHEY to Australia on The Mary III arriving in Sydney in September 1835. A sister and a brother also accompanied the mother. The mother and a son had been sentenced on the Isle of Man; this son came on another vessel and was recommended for his Ticket of Leave by the Muswellbrook Bench in January 1844, nothing further has been found of him. That the sister's name may have been Sarah comes from a LYNCHEY Catholic Baptism on the Isle of Man in 1826; in 1847 this lass would have been 21. One of the documents that I have states that she had a mother (unnamed) living in Sydney. Sarah LYNCHEY was living in Sydney with Mary Ann until her death in 1860. As in Ireland, and no doubt in this case helped by the stain of convictism, the name LYNCHEY fairly quickly morphed into LYNCH. There are no LYNCHEYS in either Irish white pages today. 3. Hi Marg thanks for this. Catholic burials can be searched: http://www.catholiccemeteries.org.au/rookwood/rookwood.html (a search screen pops up) and the Independents: http://www.rookwoodindependent.com.au/Mapping/Index.aspx Still leaves a few to go. on another note ... I have a pauper burial which doesn't seem to be locatable. Not sure this is because the poor went into unmarked graves or because it is from 1888. Death certificate says: DATE OF BURIAL -10/12/1888 PLACE OF BURIAL -CHURCH OF ENGLAND CEMETERY ROOKWOOD MINISTER & RELIGION -REV W HOTSTON, CHURCH OF ENGLAND UNDERTAKER -JORDAN SPARKS Regards 2009/9/27 MargM <[email protected]>: > > >  Sydney's Rockwood main cemetery is now searchable . >  http://www.rookwoodcemetery.com.au/ >

    3. Hi Karen & list My burial was 1902 and had the same issue: I have death certificate which shows the date of burial 2 days after date of death, but the online database has this as date of death. I notice that there is no field for date of interment in any case. 3. Dear Jan, Some libraries have the reels which are microfilms of State Records hard copy books. On the same site Archives in Brief No. 46 will tell you which libraries have them. My hard copy is a 2004 one which does not show country areas, however I do know a couple of country libraries that do have them. If one is not close to you, then perhaps a request to the list might entice SKS to have a look for you. Sincerely, Bill >I have done that and got the reel numbers.
