Hi Mike Washpools were very common during the !1870's However I would think the one you are referring to is on the western side of the Bucketts Way south of Stroud and was established by the AAA coy for the "dipping" of sheep. Does any lister know where Washpool was situated in the 1870's? I think it may have been near Stroud. I know that there is another Washpool west of Grafton in NSW but it this not where I'd expect it to be in context of the land title I am interested in. Mike, Having lived in Stroud in the 40s I would place it a little west of Stroud on a back road from Stroud joining what is referred to as Stroud Road which runs from the Old Pacific Hwy between Stroud and Stroud Road and continues to Dungog and yes history syas it was mainly used for sheep dipping purposes. Hi Wal, Perhaps you are not aware of Gow Newspaper Indexes which is how Lisa knows the entries are in The Manning River Times (I can tell from the format of the entries she listed). http://www.gownewspaperindexes.com.au/ Newspaper entries are not necessarily found in the specific area our ancestors lived for different reasons including that they could have family that lived elsewhere. I was unable to run my Digger indexes on this setup. I had two choices - I could purchase an upgrade of Windows 7 to the minimum Enterprise Edition, so I could download and run XP Mode in Windows 7 or I could download Virtual PC and install XP on my virtual machine which I could then load with my Digger indexes. Takes a bit of doing, but it is possible and works for me. Microsoft have not made it easy for people upgrading their computers..........they will try anything to make people spend more on upgrades just so they can run their programmes. I hate Microsoft. Dear Larine, They do if you have a 32 bit computer, but apparently will not go on a 64 bit computer. Regards, Bill > > I have just changed to Windows 7 and mine don't work either. > > Cheers, > Laraine
Anyone purchasing a new PC with windows 7 should ask for 32 bit to run as well as 64 bit if you want to run old CD-ROMs. You can also install software in the appropriate compatible area. I asked for it after seeing it was possible on a popular brand's site. I was researching upgrades because I wasn't going to upgrade unless I could use my stuff! So glad I did. Deb.
