    3. Cumberland county covers the Sydney basin also called Cumberland Plains. Cumberland covers from the Hawkesbury River to Cordeaux River including Sydney, Parramatta, Penrith and Windsor.     3. Re Christ Church St Laurence, thought the following may be of interest.. Best wishes. Rod & Wendy Gow >From book - Saga of Sydney - by Frank Clune, printed 1962... ....(on) the Crown land map of 1842, with a frontage on George Street, (is) St Laurence New Church, opposite the Old Black Swan Inn. That church still stands today, and is know as Christ Church St Laurence. It was built in 1836-42 on the initiative of Bishop Broughton, who formed a new parish (the third in Sydney) at this end of Sydney in 1836. The fine tower of Christ Church St Laurence was added by architect Edmund Blacket in 1856.
