Thank you very much Diane - I should post these titbits on the "Brislington" Parramatta page. There is much history about "Brislington" and no-one seems to know whether the winning card story is true but the diamonds are certainly in the brickwork. Yes, I do have quite a few more hiding in my corner (grin) but not enough time to post all the details or places. Perhaps I can cheat and just list surnames: ** BORTHWICK ** (Worldwide One Name Study as well as my own family - so I'd love to hear from any lister with any Borthwick connection at all). Associated surnames in the Hunter are CLIFT, MAYO, COOPER, PILCHER, DAISEY, FLETCHER, BUTLER ** BROWN (aka BROUN) ** of Parramatta and of "Colstoun" Upper Paterson. Descendants of John BROWN, born in Denmark, and his wife Charlotte DOWLING. Charlotte Broun, another HHHV lister, is also interested in this family. There are many associated surnames from the Hunter & Hills District, mostly Parramatta again - LINDEMAN, SHELLEY, WHITE, SUTTOR, WALSH etc ** BROWN ** The Browns of "Brislington" Parramatta and their families. Again there are many associated surnames - ARTLETT, COWPER, DOCKER, HANSEN, HERRIOTT, LLOYD, MACARTHUR, RILEY, SUTTIE, TRINKS, WHARTON If any reader is interested I do have quite a bit of information, on the early generations only of these families, on my website - especially the BORTHWICKS but gradually adding more for the other families too. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~anncarson/ Regards Ann Carson (GoONS 3727) annmacarthurc@ozemail.com.au ~~~~~~~~~~~
