Dear June, Nice to meet you and thank you for responding. I have not been able to get further back than Edward Merrick and Susannah Lloyd. I have a copy of his trial at the Old Bailey, a reference to his trial in the Times, and his will. There are also plenty of references to him in the Colonial Secretary's correspondence, and the famiy was mentioned in the various early musters and in the 1828 Census.
