    3. Dear Louise, Noticed your e-mail re GENGE and BARR. We had a look through some of the newspaper indexes we have published and extracted the following mentions of those names. You may have already seen these but better to have them twice than not at all. Hope the following is of interest, Louise. 3. Hi again Louise, Some of these belong to the BARR family I'm researching: >Barr Arthur Death Dagworth Maitland 1901 Arthur was the son of John BARR and Hannah RUDD "Maitland Mercury" 22 March 1901 DEATH OF THE LAD ARTHUR BARR - At an inquiry held by the Acting District Coroner (Mr F. P. Meares) into the circumstances of the death of the lad Arthur Harold Barr (16 1/2 years), killed at Dagworth on Wednesday, a verdict of accidental death was returned. It appeared that the lad had led an unbroken filly to water by means of a strap. On returning, he fastened the strap round his wrists. Something frightened the filly, and it ran away, dragging the lad, and kicking him as it ran. The boy's brother stopped the horse, and he was carried inside in an unconscious condition. The boy never rallied, and died in about half an hour - before Dr Harbison could reach the house. The lad's wrist was smashed he appeared to have a fracture of the skull, and was also kicked and battered about the face and legs. >Barr Peter Granted a Ticket of Leave - Per ship ìLloydsî Ticket of Leave Maitland >1842 Peter BARR was the father of John BARR. He married Martha HALL in 1843 in Black Creek. He was born in Argyleshire, Scotland and arrived on the "Lloyds" in 1833, after receiving a life sentence for arson. Cheers Jan
