    3. Hello Robert, Re Taylor of West Maitland, NSW: The following profile is found in The Aldine Centennial History of NSW, 1888 by F. Morrison: [under "West Maitland"] "W. TAYLOR AND SON are one of the largest firms of builders and contractors in this district, and employ on an average from 40 to 50 hands, and sometimes more. The business was established in 1882 in a very small way, the firm at that time only employing one hand, but steady application and ability have increased the business to its present dimensions. The firm have erected a number of pulic buildings throughout the district, amongst others being the Benevolent Asylum, Morris' buildings, Wylie's buildings in Maitland, Hardcastle's Hotel, the Court-house at Scone, and St Bridget's Church at Branxton, as well as a number of private residences. They also made extensive alterations and additions to St Stephen's Church and Parsonage, East Maitland. The firm are large dealers in cedar, sometimes as much as 50,000 feet passing through their hands in a month. Mr W. Taylor, the senior partner, was born in Somersetshire, England, but Mr Charles (his son) is a native of West Maitland." Hope this is your William Taylor.
