    3. Dear Elaine, Re that mystery placename in the marriage record you have: it's hard to imagine a placename such as that in Australia, beginning as it does with Z. I know there's Zeehan etc, but the word you quoted doesn't sound right at all. Since the name has "bar" on the end of it, I think it would be a good idea to start looking at a map of the NSW northern rivers where names of that ilk are common. Many ships plying the north coast run were given these town names.... such as Tintenbar, Pulganbar, Minimbah, Maianbar, etc. The name of the church and minister could also be a good clue. Perhaps the first child was born in the same settlement, and the Births, Deaths and Marriages Index code will show the place of registration? Best wishes, Gwen
