Could someone let us know the location of two properties about 20 miles from Maitland, namely GLENDON and STANHOPE. Glendon owned by Messrs Scott and Stanhope under the superintendence of Messrs Scott of Glendon and owned by Dr Mitchell of Sydney & Hunter River. A watchman named Edward Thompson, was an assigned servant to Doctor Mitchell at Stanhope 20 miles from Maitland. We are following a murder trial of 9 year old Patrick Cavanagh & 3 mths old Michael Keoghue and attempted murder of Mary Cavanagh and Anastasia Doyle by two aboriginals named Harry and Melville in 1843 who were later found guilty and hung outside Maitland Gaol.
