Parents of Jane Hewitt: Alexander Hewitt - b ? Cheshire England a PJ per Glatton 11/3/1803 (had been sentenced in Chester in 1801 for 7 yrs for ?) m in England to Jane ? date unknown. Jane Hewitt (the mother of Jane) was born 11/6/1776 in Chester and she came out on the William Pitt and arrived in PJ14/4/1806. She had been given 14 yrs for ? unknown in 1803. Methinks it may have been to get out to Alexander? Jane may also have had further relationships with John Cribb p Perseus b1773 d11/9/1833 with out issue (as far as I am aware); and someone unknown - but had a further 3 children Alexander Hewitt b 28/3/1844, Thomas Stephen b 10/7/46 and William Charles b 1848 m 1867 Esther Herps d 1932 (all given the name of Cribb inspite of James dying in 1841) In relation to Alexander & Jane Hewitt, any pointers on how I find out details of his parents and hers? Would permissions to marry list her maiden name, parents names etc? Unfortunately, I have virtually nil access to the NSW State Archives Kit due to Toowoomba Library not possessing it - the nearest is State Library of Qld in Bris, and at this stage, I am not in a position to amble down in the next month or so at least!!! Thanks in Anticipation! Liz
