Hi all, I am interested to learn more of the Downey family. James Downey married my ggg grand aunt, Eleanor Mary Fishburn in 1839 at St John's Church, Parramatta NSW. Ellen was born 1820 at Windsor NSW to William Fishburn and Catherine Ash. James does not appear on the 1828 Census suggesting he may have arrived after that date. There are 3 convicts of the same name who arrived 1829-1832 but no associated permissions to marry. Of course, James may have come free. I apologise for the multiple posting.
