Hello All, I have family who owned land in Ellalong about 1860-1870. My ggrandfather Alexander McARTHUR is shown on the Parish map as owning a lot in Ellalong. The next lot was owned by Annie Kennedy who I presume was his cousin. Alexander and his uncle Alexander KENNEDY also had dealings with other parcels in the village. I would be pleased to hear from anyone with an interest in these families or who can direct me to any info about Ellalong of that time. Hi Jane and John, I don't know that much about Ellalong other than it has been Aellalong on earlier maps and that it is in the vicinity of Millfield, Launa and Wollombi, all farming communities. There are a few well known families in the general region - families that I am connected to in the area are John Thomas Baker(line of William Baker Neptune 1790) and his wife Jane Lousie Ware (also from Wollombi), Sarah Robinson who married Joseph Craft, Sarah Dixon (buried at Ellalong) d/o James Peulett (Scarborough 1788), Thomas William Collyer apparently had a pub in Wollombi. I have recently driven through the area and it is very pretty.
