    3. Hi Diane, My 3g grandparents, Michael Cunningham and Sarah Peters lived in the Millars Forest area around 1856 where son Patrick was born on 6 Mar 1856. The family lived generally around the area from Raymond Terrace through to East Maitland from the 1840's before moving to the Gulgong area around the mid 1860's. 3. Evening Russell, Are there any family connections to a Michael CUNNINGHAM (Jnr.) 1862-1932 ? (son of Patrick and Bridget ?) There are some references to this family in Margaret Osborn's book, "A Forest No More", which I think is a great title, A Short History of Millers Forest [including Duckenfield]. Following the devastating 1893 flood, then the drought of 1895, my paternal g-grandfather must have decided to call it quits and moved on to greener, and drier, pastures. He had his final clearing out sale in 1899 - lock, stock and household sundries. 3. Hi Diane, The truth is, I don't know. I do not have them recorded at present, but I do have some loose ends to tidy up. Michael and Patrick are very prominent names in the family, but then they are in many Irish Catholic families. But there are also children Thomas and Mary from BDM which are not common to our family. By the early 1860's the Cunningham family had moved to the Gulgong area en masse. Sarah Peters was to die there in 1862. Marriage - 2767/1861 CUNNINGHAM PATRICK MARKHAM BRIDGET RAYMOND TERRACE Birth - 12961/1862 CUNNINGHAM MICHAEL PATRICK BRIDGET RAYMOND TERRACE Birth - 14170/1864 CUNNINGHAM THOMAS PATRICK BRIDGET RAYMOND TERRACE Birth - 14211/1866 CUNNINGHAM MARY PATRICK BRIDGET RAYMOND TERRACE Adding to the problem is that there was at least one other Cunningham family in the Hunter region who I keep tripping over. My thinking says that they are not ours, but will save your email, just in case. Even so, the book sounds interesting. I wonder if it is available, at least from a library as I would be interested in some background on Millers Forest in which to place my family at the time. I drove through there on my way home from hols once. I could see why flooding might have been a serious problem with the low flats next to the river.
