    3. Hi Keith, et al, A trip to Windsor Library would answer all your questions, and more, as there are probably other cemeteries which are not covered here. Some I know of but others not, so you will need to do some follow up !! Providing you live within a reasonable distance ? the best way to "get a feel" is to grab some local maps and/or a good street directory, jump in the car and do a cemetery crawl :) There are also a number of small private (family) cemeteries in and around the Hawkesbury, and some various church and lone graves. I have cut and pasted the ones you queried, leaving the others as per your original post ..... > General Cemetery - /, Maroota > General Cemetery - Sackville Ferry Rd, Sackville North These are one and the same and it is actually known (today) as Sackville Cemetery, on Sackville Ferry Road, Sackville (North). Dedicated on 2nd December, 1899. Not a big one and under the care of Baulkham Hills Shire Council http://members.optushome.com.au/dianep/sackvillenorth.htm > St Thomas's CE Cemetery - Tizzana Road, Sackville http://members.optushome.com.au/dianep/sackvillereach.htm or http://www.hawkesbury.net.au/cemetery/st_thomas/index.html > Old Methodist Church Cemetery - Chapel Hill Rd, Sackville http://members.optushome.com.au/dianep/sackvilleold.htm > Presbyterian Cemetery - /, Pitt Town > Pitt Town Cemetery - Avondale Road, Pitt Town The top one you refer to is the one on Old Stock Route Road, Pitt Town, bounded by Avondale Road and adjoining Scheyville National Park. It is only small http://members.optushome.com.au/dianep/oldstockroute.htm The other one at Pitt Town is St. James Anglican Church Cemetery and it is located on Old Pitt Town Road > Wesleyan Cemetery - /, McGraths Hill High Street/Charles Street, McGraths Hill http://www.angelfire.com/electronic/cemeterytour/ (sponsored site with pop up ads) > St Albans General Cemetery - /, St Albans > St Albans Old General Cemetery - /, St Albans The old one is on Settler's Road, before you actually reach St. Albans. The new one is past the St. Albans township, but not sure ? if this is still called the Settlers Road > Laughtondale Cemetery - /, Wisemans Ferry Wisemans Ferry (Laughtondale) Cemetery Singleton Road, Laughtondale > MacDonalds River Cemetery - /, MacDonalds River General Cemetery, Macdonald River, also known as Jurds Private Cemetery. Settler's Road, Central Macdonald http://members.optushome.com.au/dianep/jurds.htm There is also the old St. Joseph's (Catholic) Cemetery, and a couple of graves at St. Judes Church, at Central Macdonald > Cemetery - /, Londonderry Londonderry Road, Londonderry > Richmond Lawn Cemetery - Dight Street, Richmond There is also the old Presbyterian cemetery on Jersey St at Richmond (just up the road from the Lawn Cemetery) > Presbyterian Cemetery - /, Windsor Church Street, Windsor (near the railway line) > Lower Portland General Cemetery - /, Lower Portland There is a fairly large cemetery on West Portland Road. According to Johnson and Sainty in their book Sydney Burial Ground 1819-1901, there was/is ? one called St. Roses c.1840, Half Moon Reach, Lower Portland Head The following are only a *maybe* ..... so do follow up !! > RC Cemetery - /, Sackville Reach Don't know this one, but that's not to say there isn't one :) > Methodist Cemetery - /, Kurmond A small private one on Comleroy Road, Kurmond > St Gregory's RC Cemetery - /, Kurrajong St. Gregory's Church is on Grose Vale Road/Line of Road. Don't know about the cemetery .... > Upper Colo Cemetery - /, Colo This is a small church and graveyard on Comleroy Road > Belmont Park Cemetery - /, North Richmond There is the Archibald BELL grave off Grose Vale Road, but don't know if this is the one you mean > St Stephen's CE Cemetery - /, Kurrajong St. Stephen's Church is on Willow Glen Road (off Grose Vale Road). Don't know about the cemetery ... Others I know of include : St. Johns, Wilberforce Holy Trinity, Spencer Our Lady of Loreto (Catholic), Upper/Higher Macdonald Bailey Family (private), St. Albans Chaseling Family (private), Knights Retreat * Brown Family Cemetery, River Road, Lower Portland * William Daley's Grave, Cattai * Private burial ground, Cattai (The above * three are under Baulkham Hills Shire Council) I thought I read once of one at Leet's Vale (possibly a family one) but as I can't find the reference I'm not sure And there are probably others as well .... Good luck Diane ----- Original Message ----- From: "Keith Skinner" <kskinner@ozemail.com.au> Subject: [H,H,HV] Hawkesbury Area Cemeteries - Locations > Could anyone help with the locations of the cemeteries in > and around the Hawkesbury Area.
