Appologies for not providing enough details on my first posting. Hawkesbury Landholders Vol 1 Pearl Beach & Patonga 1839 - 1c.1990 released last May, contains a full chain of title for most blocks of land in both these locations. It also includes Volume, Folio & Dealing numbers for each transaction, place of residence at the time the land was bought, occupations, husband name & occupation in the case of married women being the purchaser, and a whole lot more. A wealth of information for family historians. Hawkesbury Landholders Vol 2a Richmond Windsor, Mulgrave Place and beyond, focuses on land in the Parishes of Ham Common and St Matthew but because the Land Grant Indexes listed the locations simply as "Mulgrave Place" it also includes land in a number of other areas. As this is all Old System land and very difficult and immensely time consuming to search individual chains of title, it's an index of names with a Dept of Lands reference number to help you locate the information. It contains; a list of land grants in the general Hawkesbury area with Serial & Page No's, details of names and Portion Numbers where available from both Parish Maps, details of names and Lot/Section Numbers where available from the Town maps of Richmond and Windsor. It also includes Agnes Banks. There is a list of people who sold land (identified in this area) pre 1825. An 1827 list of owners & occupiers is also included. Apart from these entries it also contains ALL names mentioned in Primary Applications relating to land in this area and the often difficult to find, PA number. Due to the nature of the content & research done for a PA, these entries also can lead you to bankruptcies & Sequestration dates and numbers but only the names and the PA number are listed on the CD. Many of the names are family members, beneficiaries, trustees, mortgagees, and others mentioned in the Old System Land documents but not all were land holders. By referencing the PA you can then obtain the document reference number for the person of interest. There are approximately 7,000 entries. A Primary Application (PA) was lodged by anyone wanting to convert their land from Old System Title to Torrens Title from it's commencement on 1 Jan 1863. The information on the CD has been taken from the PA Search Books at the Land Titles Office which contain more details referencing other land than the official end result which are now mostly available at State Records Kingswood. The PA is the very important link between Old System Land & Torrens Title Land. As many of you will know, the PA number can be very difficult to locate. This is an ongoing project which will take some time to complete and as such the proceeds of the CD's will fund the unavoidable purchase of Title Deeds to continue the project into the Torrens Title Land, ultimately resulting in a massive database and resource for family historians. The data has been taken from the publicly available records of the NSW Dept of Lands. The CDs are in Excel format with an Excel reader included so no special software is required. Vol 1 is available now Vol 2a is available for pre-release orders, shipment will be on the release date 4 Dec 06.
